Description
A view of Mansion House Street and the junction of Queen Victoria Street with Poultry, City of London. In the centre is Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London. Designed by George Dance the Elder and built in 1739-53, it was Grade I listed in 1950; listing number 1064604. The City of London flag is flying above the building and a long ladder is leaning against the right hand side of the facade. On the left is 1-6 Lombard Street, which was built between 1908 and 1915 by Dunn & Watson. It was Grade II listed in 1977; listing number 1286139. On the right are the now demolished Mansion House Buildings, which includes the Mappin & Webb jewellery store on the ground floor. Two policemen are standing in the junction directing traffic, which includes the number 11 and 25 buses.
