Title
Lloyd's Register of Shipping's Collcutt Building in Fenchurch Street
Description
Trees and flowers growing, some park benches and a pile of sacks in the courtyard of the Lloyd's Register of Shipping building at 71 Fenchurch Street in the City of London. The building was designed by architect Thomas Edward Collcutt in 1901. The courtyard was the former churchyard of St Katherine Coleman. It is now a public garden that was re-landscaped in 1996-2000 during the building of a new extension by the Richard Rogers partnership which is situated to the south and west of the original building. When the photograph was taken the courtyard also looked onto Haddon House, designed by Stanley Hamp, which was demolished.
