Description
Cheapside, City of London, corner of Wood Street. This tree is on the site of St Peter in Chepe which was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666. The shops on Cheapside occupy land which was granted for a shop in front of the church in 1401. Shops in the photo include L. & R. Wooderson.
