View of shops and businesses, with flats above, at 84 to 86 Bartholomew Close, City of London, looking south. The businesses, located on a corner of the street next to Butchers Hall, left, include G. Lane and Co., bookbinders and leather manufacturers, the rear of Richard George Priestly, 'haircutting and shampooing rooms', and the rear entrance of The Queens Head and French Horn public house, at 46 and 48 Little Britain (later destroyed during bombing of World War II), respectively. The three- and four-storey buildings are seen in a poor state of repair with grimy brickwork and windows, one broken. The buildings have since been replaced by a mixed-use development, Fenwick House and The Levett Building, with Butchers Hall remaining.
