View of a first-floor front room in 12 Austin Friars, City of London. Timber building products have been piled against the far wall of the room, next to a fireplace with a marble and carved dark wood surround. The room is littered with debris, building tools and brooms, along with a makeshift coat stand, an upholstered armchair, and a discarded trilby hat. The walls room have wainscotting with moulded panels above, large sash windows towards the front, and an arched alcove to the left of the fireplace, with a matching panel to the right. The 1883 four-storey building is Grade II listed, listing number 1191447 and was formerly the office of Martin Burn Limited, estate agent (based in Kolkata), and the Indian Iron and Steel Company Limited, named Martin Burn House, and since renamed 'Furniture Makers' Hall', an events venue.
