Description
View of mid nineteenth-century shops and offices at 11 to 13 Bell Yard, City of London, looking north. The shop windows of Butterworths, publishers, at 11 and 12 has display boards showing the production process of a new law book, 'an introduction to English legal history', and the 'main stages in its evolution' (seen decorated with British and American flags), right of the entrance door, and a display of books on the left. The offices above have a mixture of full-height glazing, brick facias, sash windows with stucco surrounds, or brick arches. The terrace from 9 to 12, has since been replaced with a new residential building, completed c2019.
