View of south entrance to Pinners' Hall at 8 Austin Friars, City of London, looking north across Austin Friars Square. The six-storey stone building features a substantial entrance portico, flanked by pairs of marble columns, large metal-framed windows with a curved bay above the entrance, a mansard roof, two floors of attic rooms above a heavy cornice, stone scrolls between the lower-level windows, and wrought-iron balustrading in front of the top floor. Vehicles parked on the Square on parking meters include Ford Popular 103E and Anglia 105E models, and Morris Oxford Series VI saloons. The building was replaced c1992 with a modern six-storey office building with retail units in a sympathetic architectural style, bounded by Austin Friars Passage, Old Broad Street, and Great Winchester Street, opposite the NatWest Tower (Tower 42).
