Description
Detail from the woodcut map of London c1561 attributed to Ralph Agas, this edition published c1633, sheet 8; showing St Andrew's Hill, the location of the property William Shakespeare purchased in Blackfriars in 1613. It is generally considered that the property was located on the east side of the road, just above the word 'hyll', where the entrance to Ireland Yard stands today.
