Description
This is a later edition of John Norden's map of 1593 with alterations and amendments by John Speed. It includes maps of Westminster, City of London and Middlesex. In addition there are two views of St. Peter's (Westminster Abbey) and St. Paul's Cathedral (as it was before the Great Fire of London in 1666). Speed published this edition in 'The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain' (1611) and it was sold by George Humble from his premises in Pope's Head Alley against the Exchange. Scale: 1 3/8":480 'Pases'; 3 1/2":1 mile; [1:18103].
