Description
Panoramic view of Caroline, Queen Consort of George IV travelling in state to St Paul's Cathedral to give thanks for her acquittal, 20 November 1820. Spectators wave out of the windows of surrounding buildings, and crowds line the streets to watch the Queen pass.

King George IV had claimed that the Queen had conducted an affair with an Italian courier and she was charged with adultery. The Queen however had public sympathy, and near hysterical scenes such as this were commonplace. For aquatint see Record No: 26674.
