View of the former Barclays Bank building at 220 High Road, Tottenham, looking east along Broad Lane beyond the roadworks at the junction. The early Edwardian period neo-classical building is Grade II list entry 1079238. The roadworks are, probably, part of Haringey Council's Old Moselle Southern Improvement flood relief scheme, evident by the board and hoardings behind the shelter at the west end of Page Green Common. Timber sleepers have been arranged to divert traffic around the junction aided by temporary traffic lights, with metal barriers placed to channel pedestrians across. Pedestrians include a mother with young children and a pushchair walking along the pavement, along with a woman and a man dressed in a boiler suit, negotiating the junction. Vehicles approaching the junction include a Ford Zephyr Mark III, an Austin A40 Farina, Ford Escort, Bedford CA and, possibly, Ford Consul Classic vans, a Morris 1100 estate and an AEC Routemaster bus. Earlsmead School along with Cordell House are visible in the distance.
