Title
Barclays Bank building in Tottenham High Road
Description
View of the Barclays Bank building at 220 to 224 High Road, Tottenham, looking east across the staggered pedestrian crossing. The Grade II listed early Edwardian period neo-classical building (listing number 1079238) formerly housed the North Tottenham branch of Barclay's Bank at the ground floor, with the Tottenham Rotary charity shop at the north-west corner, and the offices of the Pearl Assurance company and Godfrey Leighton, solicitor, on the upper floors. The adjacent vacant plot surrounding the building, seen with hoardings advertising a new office development and others for menswear on the left and Double Diamond beer around the corner in Broad Lane to the right, has since been developed with a Tesco's superstore. Pedestrians can be seen walking along the pavement towards Seven Sisters tube station together with a Ford Zephyr Mark IV parked in front of the hoardings beside the site gates.
