The shops currently include Chicken and Dominican restaurants, food retail and an electrical goods shop. The nineteenth- and early-twentieth century buildings at 414 to 420 are listed locally. A cartouche at first-floor level between 414 and 416 is inscribed '1901' with initials at the centre, marks the start of a significant growth in population in the area.
