Description
View looking south east along Southwood Lane, Highgate, Haringey, showing fronts of numbers 12-2A. Number 12 has a front door under a Doric portico reached up three steps, but the layout is odd as this is in the left corner (not central) of a 3x3 layout of windows, and to its left is a two-storey extra bay. The whole of the ground floor is painted white, and is separated by a string course from the two upper storeys, left in natural brick. The next two houses, which are not painted, are set back slightly; they maintain a consistent window line, but the top storey windows are smaller. The next houses revert two three storeys but do not keep the window line, and a small two-storey house can just be seen beyond them. The varying heights and window positions give the block an unharmonious feel. Passing pedestrian, a parked vehicle half out of view at extreme right.
