Number 268 St Ann's Road, Haringey, is an elegant four-storey house, seen here across the grassy area and semi-circular drive in front of it. The centrally-placed front door, under an arch, is reached up a flight of some dozen steps, and is surmounted by a single window. On either side a bay of three windows runs through the three lower storeys, the lowest of which is below the roadway. Attractive detailing above the windows and on the courses between them. The mansard roof has three simple attic windows, aligned with the lower storey windows, and a chimney stack at each corner. It was once a lending library, and has now been demolished, with the Chestnuts Community Centre standing on the site with the old driveway. The houses on Cornwall Road, on the right of the image, are still there.
