Front elevation of 39-45 Wardour Street, Soho. Number 39 is a four-storey building with attic and cast-iron balcony to the second floor. Jade Travel occupies the ground-floor shop. Number 41-43 was built in 1904-05 by H. M. Wakeley with four storeys and an attic. The jambs at the entrance have metal cartouches inscribed "Sarah Bernhardt laid the foundation stone of this building 1905". It is Grade II listed, listing number 1357341. The ground floor is the Wong Kei Chinese restaurant and remains so as of 2026. A large overhanging clock with sign ' Costumier Perruquier'. A perruquier is a wig maker and there is a Central Blue Plaque commemorating Willy Clarkson, theatrical wigmaker, who ran his business from this site from 1905-1934. Number 45, four-storey with an attic and on the ground floor Chez Victor Restaurant. One of the most exclusive members-only nightclubs in London in the mid to late 1920s, owned and run by the Italian Victor Perosino, it was a favourite haunt of the Prince of Wales (later Duke of Windsor). In 2007 the restaurant was destroyed in a fire, but rebuilt and is now a Chinese Restaurant.
