Description
Imperial Institute in Imperial Institute Road, Kensington, now Imperial College Road. The Queen's Tower is Grade II listed, listing number 1231643.The building was designed by T. E. Colcutt. The foundation stone was laid by Queen Victoria in July 1887 and the official opening by the Queen took place on 10 May 1893. All that remains now is The Queen's Tower, seen in this image - the plainer of the two towers seen. The rest of the site is now Imperial College. This is a general view of the front and the 'West Public Entrance' with a gazebo entrance. It shows the size and scale of the development with very new tree planting.
