Description
Front elevation of 2 Peek Crescent, Wimbledon. A large detached house with extension, built in the late 1890s, and falling within the Merton Council conservation area. Added to the London Borough of Merton local (non-statutory) list of buildings of historical or architectural interest in February 1991. Sir Henry Peek was the last resident of Wimbledon House, a large estate on Parkside, Wimbledon. The house no longer stands but the Peek name lives on in Peek Crescent. The Peek family owned a biscuit factory, Peek Freans.
