Description
Front elevation of 52 Ridgway Place, Wimbledon; a four-storey detached house. In 1971 planning permission was granted for a change of use from dwelling house to a hotel for The Trochee Hotel. However, by 2008 it had not traded as a tourist hotel for a number of years, but as bed and breakfast accommodation for homeless people and the London Borough of Merton granted permission for a change of use from hotel to two dwelling houses involving substantial building work. The sign for The Trochee Hotel is over the door. The house lies within the Merton Borough Conservation area.
