Trafalgar Road, off Hampton Road Twickenham, is a planned estate of villa-style houses built in 1845 and has its own conservation area in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. Most of the houses, which include some on Hampton Road, are of consistent scale and styling with hipped roofs and are set in spacious gardens and high-quality front boundaries defined by low brick walls, iron railings and decorative gates. Most were listed as Buildings of Townscape Merit in 1983 and the pair known as Hazeldene at numbers 2 and 4 were Grade II listed in 1952. This view, partly obscured by tree and shrub foliage in the front gardens, shows numbers 9 and 11, two of a terrace of four houses on the west side of the road. Number 9 has stucco frontage, while number 11 is brick. The low boundary walls and iron railings, now reinstated throughout the estate, are shown clearly in the foreground. The boot of a Morris Marina, parked in the road, is just visible to the left of the photograph.
