Title
Canister Housein Thames Street
Description
Canister House at 60 Thames Street is in the Hampton Village conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames. Dating originally from around 1740, and altered significantly in the 1840s, it was Grade II listed in 1993; List Entry. Number: 1261239. This view shows its white stucco frontage, two-storey window bay with balcony and French window above. Its stepped parapet wall is almost lost against a white sky. An unsightly concrete lamp post, since replaced away from the property, and a brick boundary wall, now remodelled in white stucco, detract from the house's eighteenth-century charm.
