Description
View of Milbourne House, 18 Station Road, Barnes, looking west. Set back from the road behind a gated wall topped with foliage. A two-storey house which takes its name from the old Surrey family of Milborne who held the Manor of Esher Wateville or Milborne in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Grade II*, listing number 1252850. The external features of the house are of the eighteenth century with earlier interior details, including the seventeenth-century staircase. The house now bears a blue plaque erected in 1978 by the Greater London Council to Henry Fielding (1707-1754) who lived here c1750.
