Title
Cottages in Holly Road
Description
This view shows a row of two-storey terraced cottages on the north side of Holly Road at numbers 98-106. At one time they backed on to the works of the Poppe Rubber and Tyre Company Ltd in Sherland Road; the cleared site now a public car park used on Saturdays as a farmer’s market. The cottages have since undergone substantial remodelling including enclosed porch extensions, additional windows, and the addition of trees and shrubs. Unlike the cottages in the three-storey terrace shown beyond at 108-118 Holly Road, which are listed locally as Buildings of Townscape Merit, they have no listing status, although they are within the Queens Road conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames.
