Dating from the eighteenth-century, the terrace, incorporating 3-17 Hill Rise, was Grade II listed in 1983; listing number: 1357707. Shown trading as DOLPHIN HOUSE, also occupying the adjacent shop at 5 Hill Rise, the shop traded in school outfitting, sportswear and equipment, and men’s casual wear. The shop display presents a range of sports clothing and equipment, including mannequins dressed for riding, cricket, and judo. Number 3 is now the entrance to VIVA night club. Just visible to the right of view, the former King’s Head Hotel, an eighteenth-century inn with early-to-mid-nineteenth century alterations with its main entrance on Bridge Street, was also Grade II listed in 1983 as Christies, 1 Hill Rise; listing number: 1065431. Bill’s Richmond restaurant now occupies the lower floors, and the first floor forms part of the Viva night club.
