Title
Houses in Queen's Road
Description
Front elevations of a pair of mid nineteenth-century, semi-detached houses at 31-33 Queen's Road, Richmond upon Thames. The three-storey houses plus basement have a two-window range. Number 33 has piers either side of steps leading to a part-panelled and part-glazed door with fanlight above. There is a garden hose in view. Number 33 has a Juliet balcony to the second-floor window and a finial on the roof. Number 31 is missing these features in the image but they have since been re-instated. The houses were designed in the Dutch style by Sir Thomas Newby Reeve and were originally known as Park Villas West. The houses lie within the St Matthias Conservation Area.
