Description
Front and side elevation of Farm Lodge, 188 Petersham Road, Richmond upon Thames. It is one of a pair of original lodges to Petersham Park, standing opposite the avenue leading to Ham House. The two-storey, seventeenth-century, link-detached house was refaced in the eighteenth century. It has a one-window range to the side elevation and two-window range to the front. There is a central doorway and porch with a nineteenth-century tiled hood above. The side elevation to the road has a Dutch-influenced brick gable and a small sign on the wall saying, "FARM LODGE". Below this is a large two-sided sign saying, "TO BE SOLD - PENNINGTONS" with address and contact phone details of the agents. Two signs can be seen on the footway saying, "DUCKHAMS 20-50" and a further sign saying, "QUADRUPLE GREEN SHIELD STAMPS". Within the adjoining large brick screen wall is a door and a partially obscured pair of garage doors. There is a white picket fence with open gates and a section of trellis can be seen. The house is Grade II listed, listing number 1180866. The building lies within the Petersham Conservation Area.
