Title
Athelstan House School in Percy Road
Description
Athelstan House at number 36 Percy Road, Hampton, was originally called Brancepeth and is the sole surviving house of five built on six large plots on this section of the east side of Percy Road, to north of the railway line and Hampton Station. The adjoining plot was developed as Percy Road Council School in 1907, now Hampton Junior School, and four of the houses and their plots were redeveloped as low rise flats during the post-war era. Athelstan House is shown in this view as Athelstan House School, an independent preparatory school which closed in 2018. At the time of writing, the building is believed to be unlisted and boarded up.
