The Old Cottage in Park Lane
This view shows The Old Cottage at 22 Park Lane, Teddington, just outside the Park Road Teddington conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames. The earliest record of this cottage is believed to be from 1766, when it was mortgaged by William Cook, a carpenter. It is listed locally as a Building of Townscape Merit, and the Horse Chestnut tree shown in this picture continues to tower above the front garden. The adjoining house just visible to the left of view at number 24 is one of a terrace known as Overton Villas, which date from 1878 and are also listed locally.
