Carlton Villas in Park Road
This pair of semi-detached two-storey with attic Victorian houses at 53-55 Park Road Teddington, also known as Carlton Villas, are thought be of the late 1850s-early 1860s. Number 55 is on the corner of Albert Road, which leads towards Teddington Station and, like many houses of similar form and age in the roads between Park Road and the railway line in the Park Road Teddington conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames, they are listed locally as Buildings of Townscape Merit. The keystones above the doors and most of the frontage windows present a moulded face resembling Prince Albert. Number 53's chimney is shown with a television aerial array, thought to have been removed since, and the top of a pedestrian refuge bollard is just visible in the foreground.
