Cottages in Christchurch Road
The Christchurch Road conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames, in East Sheen to the north of Richmond Park, has a number of exceptional houses close to Percy Lodge (1740), the Plough Inn, and Christ Church itself. This view shows the row of largely unspoilt cottages at numbers 29-39 on the south side of Christchurch Road to the west of a similar but earlier row opposite Percy Lodge. These cottages are listed locally as Buildings of Townscape Merit and the eyecatching cottage gardens continue to make a substantial contribution to the character of the conservation area. The entrance to Sheen Wood, private road, is also in view. An Austin Allegro estate can be seen parked in the road next to a Mini.
