Merton Cottages in Christchurch Road
Description
This view shows the pair of cottages at numbers 58 and 60 Christ Chruch Road, East Sheen, in the row of cottages known as Merton Cottages. Dating back to the eighteenth century, they are located in the Christchurch Road conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames to the north of Richmond Park, across the road from Percy Lodge, originally a hunting lodge for the Duke of Northumberland. Numbers 58 and 60 were Grade II listed in 1983, listing number 1080840. To their right, numbers 54-56 are listed locally as Buildings of Townscape Merit and some of the adjacent Merton Cottages are also Grade II listed. A Citroen GS estate is parked in the road in front of the cottages.
