Title
Villa in Cambridge Park
Description
Cambridge Park is in a conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames in east Twickenham, close to Marble Hill Park. The Jacobean Mansion at Cambridge Park and its grounds were predominant in the area until the mid-nineteenth century, when the estate was sold off for development. Late Victorian development presented a number of substantial detached and semi-detached suburban villas around a triangular recreational space. The mansion was demolished in 1937 and other interwar redevelopment included the apartments at Cambridge Park Court and Meadowside. This view shows number 24, a detached villa in the southern cul-de-sac of the estate, which is listed locally as a Building of Townscape Merit.
