This view of Broom Road, looking west towards Ferry Road, shows the sign and car park of The Anglers pub, formerly a hotel, which is set on the River Thames looking out to the weir at Teddington Lock. The Voysey-style houses to the left of picture are numbers 10, 8, 6, and 4 Broom Road and appear to be inter-war. Four-storey semi detached houses at the junction with Ferry Road are numbers 11 and 13 Ferry Road, with similar houses numbers 7 and 9 part obscured to their left. The white house on the corner is number 1 Broom Road, which forms the end of the row of Tide End End Cottages in Ferry Road. The rear windows of the Tide End Cottage pub can be seen between The Anglers sign and the concrete lamp post. All of the buildings in view are listed locally as Buildings of Townscape Merit and are located within in the Teddington Lock Conservation Area of Richmond upon Thames. Two Minis, an Austin Cambridge, and a Ford Anglia can be seen parked in The Anglers car park, and the car driving away from the viewpoint appears to be a Triumph Spitfire convertable.
