Title
The Old Coach House in Albion Road
Description
Listed locally as a Building of Townscape Merit, this prominent three-storey house at number 14 Albion Road, Twickenham, now displays a plaque with the date circa 1720 and a nameplate 'The Old Coach House', its listing status postdating this photograph. It falls just outside the north perimeter of the Twickenham Green conservation area of Richmond upon Thames in an area consisting of widely mixed styles of residential, commercial, and light industrial two and sometimes three-storey buildings, the late twentieth-century houses to either side of number 14 offering some example. Before this development, the area would have been Twickenham Common, a residual part of Hounslow Heath.
