View south-west towards Richmond Bridge from the corner of Hill Rise, Richmond. It shows 10-12 Bridge Street, known as Tower House, built in mid-nineteenth century by H Laxton, Grade II listed in 1968; listing number 1358055. It is currently a Pitcher & Piano bar, as of 2020. The shops at 6-9 include Cafe Royal, Hall Harding Ltd, and Merlin Cleaners, all since demolished and replaced by the Heron Square complex in the 1980s. Part of Christies bar, formerly the King's Head and currently Bill's, is just to the left of picture. It was built in the eighteenth century and Grade II in 1983; listing number 1065431. Clearly visible is the eighteenth-century milestone obelisk commemorating the erection of Richmond Bridge, Grade II listed in 1983; listing number 1080869. All are located in the Richmond Riverside and Richmond Hill conservation areas. Also visible are a Farina style Austin Cambridge saloon and an older style Austin Cambridge estate car.
