Description
Oblique view of the front and side of Belmont, The Ridgeway, Mill Hill. Grade II listed, listing number 1064855, it was built in 1771-73 by James Paine Junior for Peter Hammond, a London brewer. It is a large Palladian villa, five bays by three in proportion. An unusual front door has an eliptical porch with a curved first-floor bay window above. It is now part of Mill Hill Preparatory School. Among cars parked are a Mini, a Fiat 600D and a Volvo 121 station Wagon. There is a large cedar of Lebanon on the right.
