Title
Dower House in Forty Hill
Description
A view of the rear elevation of the Dower House, a grand house in Forty Hill, Enfield. The house is adjoined to Atherton House, with Dower House at the east end. In this elevation it has two and three storeys. Some shrubs can be seen near a crumbling wall but the garden is unkempt. A chimney stack rises up the elevation from at least two different sources of smoke. In front of it is a galvanised water tank. Probably dating from the second quarter of the seventeenth century, Dower House and Atherton House were Grade II listed in 1951; listing number 1358681.
