Description
A view of the front elevation of a grand house in Forty Hill, Enfield. The house, The Hermitage, has three storeys plus mansarded attic, and is six windows wide. The door is off centre in the place of the fourth window from the left. Awnings shade the upper windows. A low wall and hedge separate the small front area from the pavement. To the left of the house is the stable building, a timber-framed, weatherboarded structure of two storeys and two windows wide. In front of it an estate car with registration number MMM322C is parked. Dating from the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century, The Hermitage and its stable building were Grade II* listed in 1951; listing number 1189040.
