Title
House in Wildwood Road
Description
Front elevation of a substantial detached house at 48 Wildwood Road, Hampstead Garden Suburb. The house has two storeys and is five windows wide and double-fronted. A path leads up to the front door across the front garden. Climbing plants are growing up the facade. It has a tall hedge at the pavement edge. Dating from the early-twentieth century, the house still exists. A later blue plaque records that the house was once the home of Dame Myra Hess (1890-1965), the concert pianist. It was also once the home of John Chapman (1927-2001), a playwright.
