Description
A view of the front elevations of numbers 1327-1335 (odd) High Road Whetstone. At the left, a sign for a branch of Midland Bank is visible. Number 1327 is Ward & Partners Estate Agents, while 1329 is a Post Office, outside which a telephone box is visible. These are twentieth century buildings. Numbers 1331-1335 are white-painted two-storey commercial buildings that are mostly hidden behind advertising hoardings, including ones for Carlton cigarettes, Crown paint and Silk Cut cigarettes. The buildings may be from the early nineteenth century. Cars parked include, from the left at the far side of the road, a BMC Mini Traveller with registration number SYN200F. In front is a BMC Mini with registration number YLU394H and then a Renault 12. Next to this on the pavement a Ford Cortina Mark I is parked. On the near side is a Ford Anglia with registration number DOC124C. Passing the parked vehicles is a Ford Transit van. None of the buildings exist and a restaurant and a residential block occupy the site.
