View of the west elevation of Highfield House in Uxbridge Road, Uxbridge, looking south across the rough grassed area. The two-storey north side of the building, three-storey central and south sections, with its apsidal projection (possibly, vacant), appears to have been recently renovated with fresh stuccowork and repairs to the external brick walls. A former first-floor oriel bay window of the centre section has been replaced, and the other windows repainted or renewed. The garden of the north wing has a temporary chain-link fence on the west side, and is seen with washing hung out on a line, with the brick boundary wall and the trees in the back gardens of terraced houses on Athol Way, visible beyond. A new feather-edge boarded fence has been built on the east side, just visible beyond the large tree and terrace, right. Highfield House, latterly named Magnolia House, is Grade II listed, listing number 1080134, amended 1993 and renamed as 'Magnolia House, the Laurels, the Chestnuts and Beech Cottage', listed separately from the adjacent houses.
