View of the side elevations of Old Mill House, across Thorney Mill Road, West Drayton, looking north from land between the Fray's River, right, and the mill stream of the River Colne. The late eighteenth-century three-storey house, together with Frays Cottage, behind, is Grade II* listed, listing number 1181607. The buildings are currently in office and residential use. The remains of West Drayton Mill on the River Colne, is visible to the left, which formerly produced flour, then millboard, and operated until c1923 before its acquisition c1948 by Penguin Books from where educational books were published until its closure c1974. The mill building has since been demolished and developed with housing, although some of the original brickwork remains.
