View of the north-west outside corner of the outbuildings surrounding the courtyard to the north of Swakeleys, a substantial manor house in Swakeleys Drive, Ickenham, looking north. The seventeenth-century 'Artisan Mannerism' style mansion, along with the outbuildings to the north of the building, are Grade I listed, entries 1080295 and 1286571, respectively. The house was originally built in 1638 for the future Lord Mayor of London, Sir Edmund Wright, and was selectively restored in the 1980s after a long period of neglect. It has recently reverted to a single large residence owned by CES Properties, who are seeking to develop the 25-acre estate which includes Harrington House and Wykeham House. The single-storey building has a tiled roof, and casement windows, one on the left-hand side seen boarded up. A Ferguson tractor with an attached trailer loaded with a lawn mower and roller, is seen parked between a tree and a temporary garage building. A washing line has been hung between poles next to the tree, between the remaining stumps of larger trees, previously removed.
