Description
View of Hungerford Bridge, Victoria Embankment, Westminster, from the south. It shows the stairs up to the bailey bridge which was built 1951 to allow pedestrian visitors to reach the Festival of Britain on the south bank. On the right two men wait at a tram stop, which is attached to a street light. One is in a three-piece suit and a trilby hat, whilst the other is in a raincoat and is smoking. Two male youths are on the other side of the stop. Stopped at the traffic lights is a Austin 16 with a Hackney Carriage licence plate on the boot, registration ELN 227. Behind is a smaller four door saloon with a split rear window and sloping back. Beyond is a neon sign, 'GARAGE'.
