Description
View of Victoria Embankment, by Hungerford Bridge, Westminster. In a very sharp image, a man and a woman watch a no. 62 tram; the 62 travelled between The Embankment and Dulwich, via the Blackwall Tunnel. Car 1876 has an open cab where the driver can clearly be seen in his cap and tunic, with his Metropolitan Stage Carriage Badge visible. On the left a lady walks briskly by, whilst a suited man appears about to board the tram. The couple in the foreground look on, she with a cloche hat, light coloured raincoat and umbrella, he in a suit and a bowler hat, with a newspaper tucked under his arm. In front of Hungerford House are a split screen sports car, with wire wheels and a van with 'Imperial Chemical Industries' and 'ICI Metals Ltd. Birmingham' on the side.
