Title
Victoria Embankment from south bank
Description
View of Victoria Embankment, Westminster, from south bank across to Temple Place. Moored alongside is RRS Discovery, which took Scott and Shackleton on their expedition to Antarctica in 1901. In 1986, the ship was moved to its home port of Dundee, where it was built, and is now the centrepiece of the Discovery Point Visitor Centre. In the background are tower cranes, one with a McAlpine logo on it, which are building Globe House in Temple Place. On the right are some lighters, their cargo covered in tarpaulin.
