Description
View of the southern end of the Ministry of Defence, Victoria Embankment, Westminster, by Richmond Terrace. Grade I listed, listing number 1278223, it was designed in 1913 by Vincent Harris but only completed in 1959. It is eight storeys high and of Portland stone. What is presumably a radio aerial can be seen on the second bay and the Royal Navy flag flies at the end of the building. In front is the Lord Trenchard statue. Various contemporary vehicles are parked in Richmond Terrace, including a two tone VW Dormobile, whilst an Austin Mini and a Citroen GS are parked on The Embankment. The street lighting, strung across the road can be seen with its supporting 'dolphin' lamp post.
