Description
View of the front elevation of the former New Scotland Yard, now called Norman Shaw North Building, on Victoria Embankment, Westminster. The North Building is Grade I listed, listing number 1274511; it was built 1887-90 by Richard Norman Shaw and John Dixon Butler in red brick and Portland stone banding with distinctive corner tourelles. It was the HQ of the Metropolitan Police from 1890 to 1967. To the left, the link to the next door Curtis Green Building can be seen. A Morris Marina, Renault 16 and a MG Midget are parked.
