Interior view of first-floor small front room in 10 Stanhope Gate, Mayfair (formerly Great Stanhope Street). Three-storey house built in 1757-8, with some early-twentieth-century alterations. Features include mansard roofs, dormer windows, porches with Doric columns, and cast-iron balconies. Grade II listed with number 9, entry 1236582. The room has squared plaster decoration covering the ceiling, and acanthus leaf decoration on the cornice. There is a plain marble chimneypiece, and the fireplace is boxed in. A three-door built-in cupboard is to the side of the chimney breast, and a storage heater is under the window. On the floor a bundle of rods, old carpet, a broom, a spade, and a bag of Ammonium Nitrate fertiliser.
