View looking west, showing a terrace of buildings with ground-floor shops at 173-178 New Bond Street, Mayfair. Number 175-176 has four-storeys plus dormers and is trading as, "Cartiers" jewellers. Within the first-floor pediment above the ground-floor shop window is a carved figure of a reclining Brittania with shield. The richly-detailed frontage is in Italianate-Renaissance style and built c1880-90 to designs by John Mackland and Theophilus Allen. The ground-floor shop frontage is of ornate polished red granite. There is a royal crest flanked by a stone balustrade. The arch-shaped windows are separated by Corinthian columns. There are signs for "Cartier Paris" and "Cartier New York" at fourth-floor level, where there is a four-window range. There are four flagpoles visible. The building is Grade II listed; listing number 1224555. In front of the building are bags of cement and signs for, "Healey Glass Concrete Constructions and Pavement Lights". Number 177 is trading as, "Henry Maxwell & Co. Ltd" bespoke shoe maker. There are recessed shop entrances with a two-window range above. Three flagpoles can be seen above. Number 174-173 is part of a terrace of shops built c1850-60 with Italianate detailing. It has four storeys with three windows to each front flanked by Ionic columns at first-floor level. The whole row is Grade II listed; listing number 1224554. Number 174 is trading as, "Kutchinsky" jewellers. There is a To Let sign above the shop front. A hanging sign for, "Piaget" can be seen below a hanging clock. Number 173 is trading as, "Abdulla", tobacconist. There is a partial view of number 178. Scaffolding can be seen in the extreme right foreground together with a tarpaulin covering some materials. A parked E-type Jaguar is in view.
